All entries must be made using Unified Color's software and submitted in the native 32-bit .bef format. There is no purchase necessary to participate in the contest. If you don't already own a copy of HDR PhotoStudio, HDR Expose or 32 Float for Mac or PC, now's a great time to try it out. You can use it for 30-days more than enough time to create your contest entries.

If you are new to HDR check out our video tutorials to learn how to use Unified Color HDR tools.

Step 3 – Prepare Your HDR File To Be Submitted

Prepare Your HDR File To Be Submitted

HDR PhotoStudio, HDR Expose and 32 Float are full 32-bit image editing applications. they provides you all the tools you need to merge, tone map, color correct, rotate, crop and sharpen your images all with 32-bit precision. This will allow you to submit the best quality image for judging. All images must be fully processed before they are submitted. We can only accept images that have been scaled to a maximum width or hight of 1,200 pixels. Think of the image having to fit in to a 1,200 x 1,200 pixel box. You can do this with the Resize tool. Remember, the largest dimension of the image can not exceed 1,200 pixels.

Step 3 – Save The File As .bef

Save The File As .bef

When the image has been fully processed and scaled to 1,200 pixels, use the Save As... command. Choose the BEF option for the file type and click on the Save button, then set the quality level to 1VE and click on the OK button

I know, I know, but the lawyers insist, and you have to click on the check box to accept the rules before you can go any further.

Step 5 – Enter Your Information And Upload Your Image

Enter Your Information And Upload Your Image

This is the only way we have to know where to send the prizes (if you win). You will need to select a category for your image to compete in. The Categories are: Landscape, Architecture and Freestyle. Use freestyle if you aren't (sure maybe you have a photo of a building in a field) or if you have something really creative that doesn't fit either of the other categories. You can submit up to 5 images per category.

Please also caption the photo so we know what it is, and what was going through your mind while you were taking the photograph.

We'd also like to know what type of camera and lens you used as well as how many shots and exposure range you used to create the photograph.

Step 5 – Submit Your Photograph
