Float Like A Butterfly, Sting Like A Bee...

In 1964 Muhammad Ali announced that his strategy to win the heavyweight championship against Sonny Liston, was to "Float like a butterfly and sting like a bee," and summarizing his strategy for avoiding Liston's assaults, said, "Your hands can't hit what your eyes can't see." I have always loved the butterfly and bee quote, but was not aware of his follow-up line until recently, about not being able to hit what your eyes can't see.

Today, Unified Color Technologies is announcing 32 Float, the first 32-bit HDR Plug-in for Adobe Photoshop based on our patented Beyond RGB™ color space, and much like Ali's quote about being elegant and nimble, I think the line about not being able to hit what your eyes can't see is even more compelling.

For years Photoshop has supported 32-bit image files, but provided few if any tools to actually process and manipulate images in the native 32-bit format. With 32 Float, Unified Color finally provides Photoshop users a filter plug-in to not only see what can hit you, but also fully process any image with full 32-bit precision regardless of the application used to create the image. 32 Float not only provides full color and tonal adjustment controls to any 32-bit HDR image, but also to any 8 or 16-bit image with the same tool set the pros use for true color HDR processing.

Unified Color's Beyond RGB color space is based on human vision and how we naturally perceive HDR scenes without halos or color shifts.

We know that there are many applications to merge HDR images, and many photographers that are still using legacy versions of Photoshop for their workflow. That is why we've developed 32 Float to support CS3, CS4 and CS5 as well as any 8, 16 or 32-bit color image.

When it comes to photography, especially HDR photography, you can only hit what you can really see.
